Diwali is the biggest festival in India. Popularly known as the festival of lights, Diwali or Deepawali is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm all over the country. People light up their homes with a beautiful array of oil lamps, make several sweets and delicacies, burst firecrackers and worship Goddess of prosperity, Goddess Laxmi. Popular cricketers from India and abroad who have a huge fan base in India wished Indian fans a very happy Diwali. Let us see who all joined the celebration and posted what wishes on their social media accounts.

1. Australian former lethal pacer Brett Lee shared a beautiful picture of diyas (oil lamps) with a Happy Diwali message written on it.

2. South African captain Faf du Plessis in spite of having a disappointing series in India, did not forget to wish his followers in India a very happy Diwali.ย  Faf is a talented batsman and a great leader, who is very popular in India, especially among the Chennai Super Kings fans.

Other cricketers such as Shikhar Dhawan, Chris Gayle and Steve Smith too wished their Indian fans by sharing a Happy Diwali greeting image.

David Warner, Kumar Sangakkara and Irfan Pathan, who all had their birthday on the same day as Diwali i.e. October 27, also wished their Indian fans a happy Diwali.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar too shared a video wishing fans a very happy Diwali on Twitter.
