Mitchell Starc, the star pace bowler from Australia was the center of IPL fans’ attention for the last few weeks. IPL auctions are scheduled on December 19, 2019, and many cricket experts were already speculating on why various IPL teams will look to buy Mitchell Starc in the auction. Mitchell Starc was the leading wicket-taker in ODI World Cup 2019 where once again he had proved why he is so valuable for the team he plays for. He was also the leading wicket-taker in the recently concluded Test series against Pakistan.

One team which needed bowler like Mitchell Starc was Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB bowlers struggled a lot last year and the fans wished to put an end to these struggles by having Mitchell Starc in their bowling department.

But all these wishes will remain wishes only, as Mitchell Starc has decided to opt-out of the IPL auctions this year. He took this decision of not playing in the IPL 2020 as he wants to focus on the red ball cricket.

Last year also Starc had opted out of the IPL to focus on the ODI World Cup. He had played his last IPL match in 2015 for Royal Challengers Banglore under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. He was their key bowler in that season. In 2018, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for Rs 9.4 crore but due to injury, he didn’t play a single match.
